GSU Officer, School Principal in Court for Defiling Underage School Girls

GSU Officer Bernard Kipngetich before principal magistrate Joe Omido/Rita Damary

A GSU officer and a secondary school principal were among suspects charged on Monday for various sexual harassment offenses against underage girls.

In the case of the GSU officer, the accused, identified as Bernard Kipngetich, appeared before Principal Magistrate Joe Omido in a Nakuru court. He denied defiling a 17-year-old girl between November 10 and 14 in Njoro sub county.

In a second count, the officer was accused of performing an indecent act with a child by touching her private parts.

Kipngetich allegedly detained the girl in his house at the GSU camp in Njoro and forced himself on her. The victim reported the attack at Njoro police station and Kipngetich was arrested on Sunday evening.

The accused pleaded with the Magistrate for his release on favourable bond terms which the prosecution did not object.

The GSU officer was released on a Sh400,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount or an alternative bail of Sh200,000. Magistrate Joe Omido also ordered that Kipngetich be supplied with witness statements.

The case will be mentioned on November 26.

Muumani Secondary School principal Francis Mulwa at Tawa law court /Mutua Kameti

Elsewhere, the principal of a school in Makueni county charged with indecently touching a KCSE candidate.

Francis Mulwa, the Muumani Secondary School principal appeared before senior resident magistrate Martin Mutegi in Tawa law court and denied the charge.

He stands accused of touching the girl’s breasts and buttocks last Thursday.

He was released on a Sh250,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount or a Sh100,000 bail.

The case will be mentioned on December 6 and the hearing will be on February 15 next year.
