If you see these signs in you then you should know that you are self betraying.

dating a person with red flags

If you constantly see signs that tell you to leave a person but you still stay with them then that is self-betrayal. You allow yourself to get hurt in the name of loving someone who probably does not feel the same, or, you are just trying to prove a point.

getting back together with your ex

If your relationship did not work out before, what makes you think that it will work out a second time? Letting yourself go back is literally the biggest self-betrayal you can ever do.

high expectations from people

You expect too much from people. Even after you have known that they cannot give it to you, you still set the standard for them, because of this, you tend to drive away many people who are in your life.

conceding because you fear confrontations

Instead of facing your problems, you hide away and let people conclude things about you. You rarely confront anyone about issues you have with them or just talk about it. You store up those issues and they end up hurting you, self-betrayal.

consciously making unhealthy decisions despite knowing better

You learn from your experiences but you keep doing the same thing over and over again. You constantly tell yourself  ‘I know this is wrong but…’. you make excuses for your unhealthy decisions. You self betray each time you do this.

telling people you are okay even though you need their support

This seems more like attention-seeking. You need help but instead of saying it, you want someone to notice it on their own, this is just wrong.

agreeing to things you do not want to do

People pleaser. You feel obliged to do everything that people tell or ask you to do. You constantly self betray by pushing yourself to do what you do not want to do. You may just end up losing yourself completely.
