KCB CEO Joshua Oigara bribed Banking Union to drop case

Joshua Oigara, KCB Bank Group CEO

Frustrated KCB Bank staff often reported their issues to their union, Banking Finance and Insurance Union of Kenya (BIFU), however, most of them went unattended.

According to sources, the stagnating of cases is brought about by the friendship and closeness that BIFU Secretary-General Isaiah Kubai enjoys with KCB CEO Joshua Oigara.

A case in which staff has sued the bank over a Performance Appraisal collapsed after the union and the judge were bribed Sh5 million.

Those in the know say Kubai, often sides with bank management to frustrate staff who raise complaints about banks.

‘Instead of the Union protecting us and making where we work better, they always side with banks and I know money exchange hands’, a KCB staff told Kenya Digest on condition of anonymity.

Kubai has mismanaged BIFU to the point where he runs it like his kiosk. There’s no accountability at BIFU.

Efforts to have the various complaints acted by the Ethics And Anti-Corruption Commission, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Judicial Service Commission and Director of Public Prosecutions have hid dead end.

Despite mountains of evidence linking Oigara and his handlers to bribery and corruption, all these institutions have remained mute confirming that the alleged anti-corruption purge is hot-air.
