Monday November 26, 2018 – Eight students from Ambira High School in Siaya County who were caught on camera bragging how they cheated in the just concluded Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) have been detained for 7 days by Ukwala Resident Magistrate, Gladys Adhiambo.
Making the ruling on Monday, the Magistrate gave the prosecution seven days to conclude the investigations and bring them back to court on Monday next week.
A video of the irate learners hurling insults at CSs Fred Matiang’i and Amina Mohamed after completing KCSE exams was widely shared on social media.
In the clip, the boys said that they had cheated in the exam despite measures taken by the Government to curb the same. They also abused Matiangi and Amina badly.
The students’ names are Opiyo Brantley Owino, Hongo Steven, Barry Oduor Odhiambo, Odhiambo Ralp Lauren, Omondi Joshua Otieno, Edwin Omondi, Clinton Onyango and Lavin Jude Ombago.
