Thursday November 22, 2018 – Mombasa Women Representative, Mishi Mboko, has warned Kenyans against writing off former Prime Minister Raila Odinga from the 2022 presidential race.
Speaking on Thursday, Mboko said that the handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta does not stop the Opposition chief from running in 2022.
Mboko said the Building Bridges Initiative is part of Raila’s strategy to succeed Uhuru in 2022
“Raila has gone back to the drawing board for strategies,” Mboko said.
Raila Odinga’s political rivals led by Deputy President William Ruto and his camp have been telling him to retire after he was appointed as Africa Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development.
However, Mboko said Raila Odinga’s new job does not prevent him from engaging in politics.
“Hold your horses. He will soon unleash his plan for 2022,” she said.
Two weeks ago, Raila Odinga said he will keep off the 2022 succession politics so as to concentrate on his new role as the AU Special Envoy.
