“We Forgive You.” Ben Kitili Responds to Online Attack Following Interfaith Wedding

No sooner had Ben Kitili made an honest woman out of Amina Mude than the “enemies of progress” reared their ugly heads through social media.

As you already know, the KTN senior news anchor walked down the aisle with his longtime fiancée on Friday 16th November.

The lovebirds, who had been engaged since 2015, made their cross-cultural and cross-religious union official at the AG’s office before hosting their relatives and close friends to a wedding dinner at the Panari Hotel.

After the nuptials, Ben and Amina were soon getting more than congratulatory messages as a section of Muslims expressed their displeasure at the interfaith wedding. Ben is a Christian whereas Amina is Muslim.

The abuse and religious discrimination towards them has prompted Ben Kitili to respond, saying, “we forgive you.”

Taking to social media on Wednesday evening, Kitili wrote; “A beautiful day when I married the wife of my youth @amina_mude, who I promise to love and protect with my all..thank you all for your warm wishes and prayers..we are humbled.. To all my Muslim and Somali brothers and sisters, especially my shemejis from Wajir; thanks a lot for your kind words and great reception.. To those who are not so welcoming, we forgive you..you have a right to your opinion as long as you don’t cross the line..God is more important than religion..”

While Amina Mude, who did not directly address the negative backlash, gushed about Ben Kitili describing him as “my safe haven.”
