18 More Deaths Reported as Covid-19 Cases Rise to 182,393 – LitKenya



The Ministry of Health on Saturday, 26th June, announced 508 new Covid-19 cases, raising the country’s caseload to 182,393.

In a press statement issued in Nairobi, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that the latest figure had been derived from 6,664 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This brings to 1,940,066 the cumulative number of Covid-19 tests. The country’s positivity rate is now at 7.6 per cent.

From the cases, 486 are Kenyans while 22 are foreigners. There are 299 males and 209 females. The youngest is a one-year-old infant while the oldest is 105.

Kenya reported 18 more deaths bringing the toll to 3,574.

Kagwe said 539 patients had recovered from the disease, 296 from the home-based and isolation care while 243 are from various health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries is 124,392.

There are 1,037 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 6,750 patients are in the home-based isolation and care programme.

Some 101 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 33 of on ventilatory support, 52 on supplemental oxygen and 16 patients are under observation.

Another 117 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 108 of them in general wards and nine in High Dependency Units (HDU).
