Robbery with violence suspect escapes from police station in Murang’a

A suspect who had been remanded at Ndakaini Police Station is on the run after he overpowered a female police officer and ran away.  

According to a police report, the suspect David Kamau Muturi aged 31 years old hit a female police officer and threw her against the wall leaving her unconscious before he escaped.

The officer Elizabeth Muleso Masaku was later taken to Kirwara Level Four Hospital where she was found to be in fair condition.

The remandee on the run, was being detained at the police station after the offences against him were amended to robbery with violence as well as rape and he was due to be transferred to King’ong’o Prison in Nyeri from Murang’a Prison.

Muturi hails from Muruka village, Kandara Sub-County in Murang’a County.
