It has been reported that Iran also requested Interpol to issue a Red Notice for the 36 people, but it was uncertain that Interpol would grant the request.

Qasen along the other five people including Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of the Iran-backed Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) was killed in a US drone strike at Baghdad International Airport in January 2020.

Iran and its allies condemned the strike referring to it as an assassination that raised the illusion of further regional destabilization.
