– Carl Jenkinson has finally left Arsenal to join Championship side Nottingham Forest

– The 27-year-old sealed a three-year deal with the EFL side

English Football League side Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson on a three year deal.

The 27-year-old leaves the Emirates Stadium after making just 70 appearances during his eight-year reign at the north London club.

“We would like to thank Carl for his contribution to the club and everyone at Arsenal wishes him all the best for his future. The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes,” Arsenal said in a statement.

Last season, the England international made eight appearances for the Gunners, three of those games in the Europa League.

Jenkinson’s reign at the Premier League club was marred with a series of injuries which was one of the reasons Arsenal shipped him out on loan to West Ham United in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons.

He also spent the 2017-18 season on a season long loan deal with Birmingham City – featuring just seven times for the team.

After joining the club in August 2017, he suffered a terrible shoulder injury after just 32 minutes on his debut before returning six months after.

The 27-year-old has represented both England and Finland at the youth level before eventually making his debut for the senior England team in 2012 against Sweden.
