City Lawyer Cliff Ombeta Speaks Out Following Gunshot Reports

City Lawyer Cliff Ombetta has come out to refute earlier reports that he had been shot along Arwing’s Kodhek road in Nairobi by an unkown gang on his way home from work.

On Monday evening a local Kenyan blog had claimed that Ombeta was nursing three gunshot wounds, one in his chest and another two on his right leg, which he incurred during the incident.

Fellow legal practitioner Nelson Havi was among the first to clear their air; informing the public that Ombeta, who recently assumed his role in the on going murder case of Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, was alive, in good health and about to watch a football match in his house.

Affirming his friend’s statement by by, Ombeta added that he had been indoors all day and that the only possible weaponry that had been close to him was his barber’s hair clipper.

Ombeta has been at the centre of many high profile murder cases in Kenya with the member of the bar having represented among others, Migori Governor Okoth Obado, controversial Pastor James Nganga, the three police officers accused of killing lawyer Willie Kimani and journalist Jackie Maribes fiancé Joseph Jowie Irungu.
