Eight Kenyans killed in Arusha car racing

Eight Kenyans were killed on Sunday near Arusha, Tanzania, during a car racing event.
Two drivers participating in the event in Namanga collided, crashing the vehicles into the crowd.

The contestants were from Kenya and Tanzania.

The accident took place in Ol Donyo Sambu, 25km from Arusha town, Nation reported.

Kajiado Deputy County Commissioner Charles Wambugu said details of the accident were still unavailable.

“We have received information that eight people died in a car racing contest in which Kenyans and Tanzanians participated. We have since confirmed the eight of those who died are from Kenya,” he said.
