Giants Gor Mahia officially unveil New Head Coach

Steven Pollack officially unveiled as Gor Mahia coach on Thursday 8 August. He joins on a two-year contract.

The Finnish Coach, Steven Pollack arrived in Nairobi, Kenya to take over at Gor Mahia yesterday.

Pollack, 58, touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after 2.00pm.

He is taking take over from Turkish tactician Hasan Oktay, who resigned on Tuesday citing personal matters back in Europe.

‘I have tried so much to be here, last year I tried but finally, am here. I am here to work and not on a vacation everybody will feel my presence here.” Steven Pollack as he was being unveiled as Gor Mahia head coach.

Present during the unveiling were, the club Chairman Ambrose Rachier, Vice-Chair John Pesa, the clubs’ treasurer Madam Sally Bollo among other members.

The former Asante Kotoko manager was present at Camp Toyoyo to watch the team as they took on Police FC in a friendly match on Wednesday morning. An entertaining which ended in a 3-2 win in favor of Kogallo.

Pollack’s immediate assignment will be to guide Gor Mahia past Black Eagles of Burundi in the CAF Champions League preliminary round starting with the first leg away in Bujumbura on Sunday.
