Hotel told to own up in dog bite incident : The Standard

The family of a boy mauled by a dog at Crayfish Camp, Naivasha, last year, wants the hotel to own up.
Through lawyer Benson Mbuthia, the family is demanding admission of liability from the camp’s director John Ngure.
“If there will be no response from Ngure within 14 days, we will institute legal proceedings,” said Mr Mbuthia.

According to the lawyer, the boy was in the company of other children from Marion School, five teachers and two staff members when they visited the camp site to take part in life skills training.
While undertaking the training on November 25, last year, their teacher noted that it was getting cold and ordered them to wear sweaters.
“It was at this point that our client, while going to his room number 25, met and was mauled by a dog, injuring his upper left arm, right thigh and back among other injuries, causing him intense shock and trauma,” said Mbuthia.
The boy was first taken to New Kimilili Medical Clinic in Naivasha before his father picked him and took him to MP Shah Hospital.
However, the hotel’s management, through Jimmy Mehta, said that was an accident.
