‘I used to sell charcoal and was paid 10 bob per day,’ Papa Dennis shares sad life experience

Gospel singer Papa Dennis has basically narrated his life story in his music. It talks about the hardships people go through every day.

Orphaned at a young age, Papa Dennis was forced to drop out of school and do menial jobs so as to fend for his siblings. He said,

I used to sell charcoal, hawk groundnuts in bus terminus, plough for 10 bob, was employed as a cattle herder, and also used to harvest maize and got paid sh15 per sack.

The singer also revealed how he once spent a night behind bars:

I was at the right time at the wrong time. I used to work at a video show shop and one day the business was open till late and that’s how the police arrested me.
