A statement for the Judiciary stated that it also has no role in swearing in of Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries.
The statement comes after the National Coordinator of the Institute for Social Accountability Diana Gichengo claimed that the judiciary presided over the swearing-i of CASs while the matter was still pending in court.
“The statement is grossly misleading and deliberately meant to discredit the judiciary.
“The judiciary has no role in swearing in of the Chief Administrative Secretaries. Similarly, the judiciary does not play any role in swearing in of Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries,” the statement reads.
The 50 CAs were sworn in last week among them former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Nairobi Woman Representative aspirant in 2022 Millicent Omanga.
The 50 are set to receive salaries higher than Principal Secretaries.
