Kakamega governor Barasa hosted by President Ruto at State House

President William Ruto yesterday evening hosted Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa at State House, Nairobi ahead of the planned two day visit in Kakamega County this week.

The meeting comes ahead of a two-day visit to Kakamega by President Ruto scheduled to commence on Thursday this week.

Among issues presented to the Head of State on behalf of the people of Kakamega County include a request for the national government to grant a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model towards operationalisation of the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital, which the President has reportedly agreed to.

Others issues presented include construction and operationalisation of the Kakamega Gold Refinery in Ikolomani, revival of Mumias Sugar Company and expansion of the Kakamega Airstrip.

“All preparations are in to gear to host the president.” Our source intimated.

According to impeccable sources privy with the ongoing arrangements, governor Barasa will convene a County Leaders Forum on Thursday to firm up on some development memoranda that will be presented to President Ruto for the interest of the people of Kakamega County.

Also present were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kakamega deputy governor Ayub Savula, Senator Boni Khalwale and Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injendi.
