The late professor Richard Alex Nyabera Magoha the younger brother to former education CS George Magoha was on Saturday laid to rest at his home in Gem, Siaya County.
His cottage left the Aga Khan funeral home in Kisumu for the funeral ceremony held at the Yala Township Primary.
The US based professor aged 69 died in the United States after a short illness.
Former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa represented former President Uhuru Kenyatta at the funeral.
“I pay tribute to professor Nyabera for his great achievements in various spheres. It goes without saying that prof as he was fondly called by his friends and peers was the most understanding, patriotic sons of our republic. As a country we appreciate his long and illustrious service to humanity and his role in shaping the lives of others by imparting crucial knowledge,” Uhuru stated in a eulogy read by Wamalwa.
Magoha is survived by his wife Janet Achieng Magoha and children Crystal Magoha, Ashley Magoha and Bernard Magoha.
