According to a charge sheet, the merry makers checked in at Clarence Hotel in Nairobi’s Westlands area on Wednesday, May 22, and were expected to leave on May 30, 2019.

They continued with the party until the sixth day when the hotel management presented them with an accumulated bill of KSh 4.4 million but they remained reluctant to pay up.

This raised eyebrows and the administration opted to detain them suspecting the hotel might have been swindled.

Appearing before the Milimani law court on Tuesday, June 4, Muthoni and another suspect identified as Julius Mwangi denied any wrong doing and were released on a KSh 500,000 with an alternative bond of similar amount.

Others namely Marylynne Chege, Victor Oduor, Natasha Wanjiru, Jackline Wanjiru, Alvin Onyango and Grace Wanjiru opted for an out of court settlement with the establishment.
