Nasa has no chills for Uhuru ahead of Raila’s swearing-in

National Super Alliance, the opposition party has declared that they will inaugurate its leader Raila Odinga as the President of the People’s Republic of Kenya despite threats from the government.

The opposition coalition luminaries who met on Sunday, December 17, maintained that they will not be cowed by threats from the government over their plans to swear in Mr. Odinga.

“They say we cannot swear in Raila, but we are telling them we will bring forward the plan to do so soon,” remarked James Orengo during Nasa convention in Kilifi.

The remarks of the Siaya Senator were affirmed by Oduor Ongwen-ODM chief executive director saying plans for the inauguration of Mr. Odinga had been finalized and a national gathering already identified. “We will swear him in, whether they like it or not. We will do it at a national gathering where he will take the reins of power immediately,” said Ongwen.

Mr. Odinga reiterated that nobody will stop him from taking the oath of office since he was validly elected on August 8.

The opposition had planned for the inauguration of Odinga on December 12th but later shelved the plans for early next year.
