Ngirici Lectures Waiguru After Joining UDA: ‘Why Die You Lie?’

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici has reacted after Governor Anne Waiguru joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) whose de facto leader is Deputy President William Ruto.

Ngirici said she was shocked that the Kirinyaga county boss is seeing the light now yet all along she has been warning her.

The lawmaker explained that it is difficult to trust Waiguru, who has been selling the now blocked Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) against the wishes of her people.

“The hypocrites who lied to the Mt Kenya people that BBI was good have joined us. However, I’m happy at least they now know you (voters) were not interested in BBI. We welcome them to the hustler nation although it is too late,” she said.

She added that the governor should be ready to face her in the nominations, which she insisted must be free and transparent.

“If you defeat me, I will sit back and support. However, I know you can’t beat me, and therefore, you should be ready to accept defeat and go home,” the MP.

Since Waiguru hinted at joining UDA last month, Kirinyaga politics has not been the same.

Ngirici, who is among UDA pioneers, has been accusing some allies of DP of trying to interfere with the local politics.

She was particularly upset after Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, and Nyeri Woman Rep Rahab Mukami met Waiguri on October 8 behind her back.

When she was received by the DP in the wheelbarrow party yesterday, the governor said she ditched President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee after studying the so-called ground and consulting widely.

“In politics, you must be very careful to remain relevant,” she said.
