Nyayo Stadium to host first KPL game 2 years since closure ▷ Kenya News



Nyayo Stadium will finally host its first Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match on Sunday, September 15, two years since being closed for renovation.

The 30,000-seater capacity stadium will be the venue for AFC Leopards vs Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday.

The stadium was initially scheduled to be repaired in time to host the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), before Kenya was stripped of hosting rights owing to political turmoil and lack of adequate facilities.

The stadium is currently holding its first sporting event as the National trials for the 2019 IAAF World Championships is underway having kicked off on Thursday, September 12.
