Only Fools Are Opposing the BBI Before Reading It, President Uhuru Kenyatta

President Uhuru Kenyatta has said it is only fools who are opposing the BBI Report, yet they have not read nor seen its content. While speaking during the Graduation ceremony at Kibabii University in Bungoma county, the head of state urged patience and wait on the report to be put public, so that Kenyans can first go through it and then give their opinions later.

” There are these people who say they don’t want the BBI and they have not seen what is inside. We take people to school so that they be educated to read. So please, let us take time, to go through it together and come out with good things…That can make the country even better, more united, that can make our institutions more inclusive,” Uhuru said at Kibabii.

The head of state’s remarks come just few hours after the chairman of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) for National Unity Advisory Taskforce, Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji, on Friday said his team had secured a meeting with the President and Mr Odinga next week.

“It is now our privilege to inform the public that an appointment to hand the report to the President has been arranged for Tuesday, November 26, 2019,” Mr Haji told journalists at a press conference in Nairobi on Friday.

The task force’s mandate concluded on October 23 and for a month, the team has been waiting to hand over its report.
