Former Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, believes Man United does not stand a chance of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
United have registered a string of poor results since their encouraging 4-0 win over Chelsea in their season opener played at Old Trafford.
The woeful form has them sitting eighth on the standings with five points, seven behind league pacesetters, Liverpool.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has appeared to put faith in the youth as his squad set up is currently comprising of young players.
Wenger, however, believes the move could be detrimental in United’s title hopes, casting doubt on whether their new crop of players can restore the club’s lost glory.
“Maybe these players are not mature enough to carry the team play of a team like Man United, altogether. That is the question mark now,” Wenger told beIN Sports.
“You feel there is something coming out but it’s not ready. When you watch them play, they are not a candidate to fight for the championship,” the Frenchman submitted.Loading...
Meanwhile, the Red Devils will be back in action on Saturday, September 14, to face Leicester City for a chance to get their campaign back on track.
