Prof Magoha To Be Buried On February 11, Uhuru Cabinet To Attend – Eagle News Feed – Nairobi Times

Former Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha

Former Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha will be buried on February 11, 2023.

His former colleague of Defense Eugene Wamalwa, revealed his former Cabinet colleagues in the former President Uhuru Kenyatta administration will stand with the family of the deceased.

Wamalwa revealed the former cabinet will be at the late Prof. Magoha’s home in Gem, Yala, Siaya County, for the burial in accordance with Uhuru’s instructions.

Wamalwa, who spoke at Yala Township Primary School grounds when he represented his Cabinet colleagues during the burial of Prof. Magoha’s brother, Prof. Richard Nyabera on Saturday, assured that they shall all be there to ensure they give their departed former colleague a decent send-off.

“We will come back because we know that on the 11th of February, you will be burying your brother Prof. George Magoha,” Wamalwa said on Saturday.

He assured the family of their late colleague of financial support, as that of former President Kenyatta.

Uhuru had earlier directed the former colleagues of Prof Magoha, led by former Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i and Raphael Tuju, to form a committee to aid in burial preparations.

On the other hand ICT CS Eliud Owalo, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Chief of Staff George McGoye will lead in helping the family.

Gachagua said they will provide food for the burial.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has opposed any help from the government to the Magoha family.

“Why would the Government help the family of Prof. George Magoha? Just asking on behalf of Kenyans.”

“This is a rich family and the good Professor who rested has children and family members whom he assisted get employment left right and center throughout his life when he was holding positions of influence. His wife has access to his wealth as well and is sure her account isn’t struggling with financial epilepsy like that of Mr. Otieno and Wanjiku,” he said on his social media.

He added Prof Magoha rested without a huge hospital bill and with a premier medical cover unlike many hustlers who have rested in different funeral homes and their bodies are detained, title deeds, and logbooks are being demanded before release.

“All that the Professor’s family needs is food and they can afford it. If the cash is available the Government should pay fees for needy children from Siaya County or Clear medical bills for Kenyans who are enslaved in hospitals for failure to pay medical bills.”
