Ruto Unmasks Uhuru in New War Over Raila Protest Rallies

President William Ruto has declared an all-out war against his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta and tycoons, who supported the previous regime over payment of taxes.

Claiming that some powerful people were exempted from tax remittance by the Jubilee administration, Dr. Ruto said the billionaires are fighting back through Raila Odinga.

He charged that Raila-led Azimio la Umoja rallies dubbed “people’s public baraza consultation” are being sponsored by Uhuru regime tax evaders.

“Even if they sponsor demonstrations so that they don’t pay taxes, I want to promise them that they will pay taxes. There are no exemptions. This country is not an animal farm where some are more equal than others,” he said.

The Head of State maintained no amount of intimation will coerce him to change his mind on tax payment.

While Ruto has never publicly accused the Kenyatta family of evading taxes, his close allies have innumerably fingered the former First Family for enjoying all the proceeds from their multi-billion shilling companies, including Brookside Dairy and Safari Park Hotel, without giving a penny to the government.

On Monday, a section of Kenya Kwanza government senators challenged the new administration to audit Kenyatta’s tax books.

Led by Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga and his Nyandarua counterpart John Methu, the lawmakers suggested that the Kenyatta empire has enjoyed tax exemptions for far too long.

Methu alleged that Uhuru was financing the Azimio rallies to pile pressure on Ruto to go slow on his ambitious new tax system.

“We have very credible information that the person who is sponsoring the ongoing protests is former President Uhuru Kenyatta for reasons that we are unearthing one by one. In all the ongoing rallies, they have been speaking about taxes. They must know paying taxes is a national duty,” Methu stated.
