Scary to Watch: Video of Pwani University Bus Seconds Before Crash Emerges
The last moments of the ill-fated Pwani University bus are difficult to watch.
A footage of the last seconds before the horrific crash were captured
In the video now circulation online, the bus is seen on high speed and forcing the vehicles coming from the opposite direction and those ahead of it to give way.
Several cars can be sighted leaving the main way and veering towards the walkways in an attempt to avoid head-on collision with the bus.
The bus’ lights were on, an indication that the driver was alerting other motorists to give way probably after losing control of the vehicle. It is thought the brakes failed.
However, not all vehicles managed to escape the imminent danger. The bus eventually rammed into a 14-seater matatu.
Some 14 people perished on the spot while others with injuries were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Police had a rough time trying to rescue some of the people who were trapped in the two vehicles.
