A church in Kisumu has planned an ambitious Sh2 trillion project aimed at incorporating mental health in its ministry so as to serve the increasing number of faithful in need of mental health services.
Briefing KNA today in Nairobi City, Servants of the Truth Church (STC) founding member Jacob Omiti said plans are at advanced stage to launch the project in Kisumu with support from a US based evangelist.
Mr. Omiti noted that he has endorsements from several local organizations in pursuit of the course stating that an international conference will take place in the country with approval from the office of the President.
“He is prepared to host a leadership summit in Kisumu that will caste his vison before launching the project,” said Pastor Omiti in his media brief.
He said he has shared the vision with a team of purpose driven churches lead by Saddleback Church and agreed on a way forward as they await the greenlight from other stakeholders.
Pastor Omiti underscored the commitment of the Church to serve Kenyans, adding that collaboration between the Church and the State would resolve challenges in the society.
Among its plans, the church will implement job creation initiatives and construction of houses on 6,000 acres of land in Kisumu City.
