There was shock in Nyamira County after a couple was found murdered in a house in cold blood.
Edward Morema aged 65 and Grace Morema were allegedly tortured by their assailants before they were killed.
Dennis Maturura the nephew of Morema says that their employees suspected that something was wrong when they did not wake up in the morning to have their tea as usual.
“When it got to 10 am they decided to wake them up but they did not respond so they broke the door only to find them lying dead,” said Maturura.
“They first found the woman lying on her bed then the man was found lying on the floor, both had their hands tied and their mouths stuffed with clothes then taped,” he said.

The two are said to be American Citizens and have been living in the US for quite some time.
Keroka OCPD Robert Ndambiri confirmed the incident saying that they have taken both the house help and the worker for questioning as they continue with investigations.
“We suspect that they were killed at night. We have visited the scene and we have established that they were hacked,” said Ndambiri.
“We have also established that they had their hands tied at the back before they were killed by hacking,” he said.
Ndambiri has appealed to area residents to avail any information they have on the murders.
