Former Tanzanian clergyman Ambilikile Mwasapile, popularly known as Babu Wa Loliondo, is dead.

The self-proclaimed ‘miracle hear’ died this afternoon as while being rushed to hospital.

He was pronounced dead at Dogodigo Health Centre in Arusha.

A family member, Eric Nabolo, said the retired church minister has been feeling unwell for the last two weeks.

In 2010, he grabbed world’s attention after claiming that he had found the right medication for all chronic diseases including HIV/AIDS.

He alleged that god instructed and showed him how to make a herbal concoction that could cure all ailments.

Hundreds of thousands of people from all corners of the world trooped to his home in a remote village in Tanzania to receive the single cup dose. Some were seen arriving at his house using chartered planes.

However, Babu came under sharp criticism after some of the people who took the concoction died while others become critically ill.
