Tusker FC Progress to The Next Round of Caf Champions League

Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Tusker FC will be facing off Egyptian side Zamalek in the second round of Caf Champions League qualifying round after knocking out Djiboutian champions Arta Solar 7.

In the return leg of the preliminary round played at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi on Saturday, Robert Matano’s men thrashed Arta Solar 3-0 to qualify into the second round of Caf champions league.

Former Kakamega Homeboyz player Shami Kibwana, Ugandan striker Deogratious Ojok and Tanzanian import Joshua Ibrahim were on target for the Brewers.

Kibwana opened the scoring with a penalty in the fifth minute of the match before Ibrahim doubled the lead in the 25th minute through a header making it 2-0 at the break. Substitute Ojok sealed the victory in the 75th minute.

The win saw Tusker FC finish the first round with a 4-1 aggregate having drawn 1-1 in the opening fixture in Djibouti.

The Brewers will now face Egyptian giants Zamalek in the next playoff round where the aggregate winner will book a place in the group stages of the continent’s premier clubs competition.
