Two Killed After Training Aircraft Crashes in Kajiado

A student pilot and flight instructor have died after a light aircraft crashed in Kajiado County on Friday morning during a training flight.

The aircraft, belonging to the Kenya School of Flying, went down near the Kipeto Wind Farm in Kajiado West on September 18, 2026.

Police said two people were on board at the time of the crash. One died at the scene while the second succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital.

The aircraft was reportedly undertaking a scheduled training exercise when the accident occurred.

Emergency teams responded to the scene following reports of the crash, with authorities launching investigations to establish what caused the aircraft to go down.

Preliminary information cited by police pointed to poor weather conditions as a possible factor, although the official cause will be determined through investigations.
