The Boxing Association of Kenya (BAK) president Anthony Ombok Otieno has called on all shareholders to rally together as he vowed to spearhead the growth of the sport.

“So far I thank God we took the office and we have started on a high note with the Boxing League and it’s wonderful that we have all teams across the country with boxing teams here and this shows we are one.
”The wrangles are done because I was elected so we need to focus on how the boxers will grow in terms of boxing,” Ombok told Citizen Digital.
Ombok, who doubles up as the Kisumu County Chairman, promised to work with everyone in developing boxing in accordance with his campaign slogan ‘Ndondi Mashishani’.

BAK will send a team of 15 boxers head to Rabat Morocco next month for All Africa Games where 10 slots have been allocated for men and the remaining five set apart for the ladies. The selected boxers will kick of their training two weeks after the league action in Mombasa.
“The criteria is always selecting the best in the ring, the National team will comprise of the best boxers selected on merit and in two weeks’ time will head to the camp to start our training because we do not have enough time,”
The coming together of Kenya Police team and KDF team is a sign of unity restoration in the association. The two were in opposite camps during the election period.
