Chief Kadhi calls on Kenyans to support govt weed out terror gangs – KBC



Chief Kadhi Ahmed Muhdhar has called on Kenyans to support the ongoing efforts by the government to stamp out terror gangs and drug cartels in the Country.

Speaking in Mombasa during the Eid ul Adha prayers, Chief Kadhi said the criminal activities were a threat to the economic development of the region and the country by extension.

Muslim faithful thronged the Ronald Ngala School open grounds in Mombasa for the Eid ul Adha prayers, which according to Muslim calendar is also called the Festival of the Sacrifice.

The Chief Kadhi at the same time urged security agencies to reign of terror gangs tormenting residents especially in the coastal region.

Leaders present blamed the problem of insecurity on increased drug trafficking in the region.

In Kilifi, hundreds of Muslims faithful turned up in different mosques for the special Eid al Adha prayers a day which is meant for offerings.

Addressing Muslim faithful at Masjid Al Noor mosque in Malindi Muhdhar Ahmed Badawy a Muslim scholar in Kilifi county called on Muslims to reflect on the need to embrace unity love and peace to all regardless of their religious backgrounds.

Here in Nairobi, dozens took to slaughtering goats in line with tradition of the Islamic teachings, with speakers calling on Muslim communities to be ambassadors of peace and co-exist harmonious in the country.

They said the day should be used by the community to reflect on their faith based on the teachings of Quran.
