Digital Renter, a real estate classifieds platform has been named the best startup in Cameroon this year at the Seedstars World competition.
Digital Renter, like its name, allows users to upload, search and have instant notifications on new property postings in the country.
“Running Digital Renter for over 2 years now and interacting with multiple stakeholders has given us deep market/field insight to validate the model; a totally inclusive, social and multi-agent system which works for the real estate market in Africa”, explains Fongoh M. Tayong, Founder & CEO at Digital Renter.
Besides representing Cameroon at the Seedstars Africa Summit, the winner will win an all-inclusive trip to the Seedstars Africa Summit and the chance to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland where the winner will take home a 500K USD investment prize In addition, the winner will receive 3 months access to the investment readiness program.
The event took place in Douala, Cameroon, October 11 at Activespaces, and saw 10 selected startups pitch their companies to the judges. The judges included Rebecca Enonchong, Founder, Appstech; Anthony Same, CEO & Founder, ST Digital; Willy Delort HEUBO, Deputy General Manager, Financial Capital and Serge Ntamack, Director of Public Policy, Microsoft.
Other startups included;
Clinic Plant, with its web/mobile application for diagnosing crop/animal diseases from an image came second and VehSeh Inc, with its software to monitor and Control your Business from Anywhere; with an internet independent point of sale., grabbed the last spot in the top 3. The other startups invited to pitch were Agrix Tech, ASTA(Advanced and Suitable Technologies for Africa), INFIUSS, Ishangoo, Kiffcodes, Lyon Technologies, SCOLARYX and Colorful.
Continuing on its world tour of fast-growing startup scenes in emerging markets, Seedstars World’s next stop is Port – Louis at Turbine, to select the best startup in Mauritius.
Seedstars World is looking for smart startups that solve regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.
