Pressure is mounting on parliament to totally overhaul the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Amani Leader Musalia Mudavadi claims the electoral agency as presently constituted lacks the credibility to transact business on behalf of Kenyans and should not even be allowed to oversee any referendum if it is to happen.

Mudavadi says the country cannot hold a referendum under the stewardship of the current commission.

He insists the current office bearers led by Chairman Wafula Chebukati have lost faith and public trust.

The ANC leader also weighed into the crisis in the maize sector that has been amplified by the plight of the farmers.

The ANC leader says the matter will conclusively be resolved through a commission of inquiry as opposed to a taskforce and as claims emerge of possible loss of billions at the Kenya Pipeline Corporation from a purported oil spillage, Mudavadi wants the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to move with speed and institute thorough probe into the dealings at the state corporation.
