HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2 in the country earlier this week as successors to the Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 6.1 from last year. The two phones, according to the company’s local branch, opened for pre-orders on Tuesday this week through various partners, including Jumia Mall.
As of this writing, though, neither the Nokia 7.2 nor Nokia 6.2 is available to pre-order on Jumia Mall. The pair is also non-existent on Safaricom’s Masoko, another player that is expected to stock the phones.
The best Jumia Mall was able to do, at least, is to include the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 in the banner shared below, but the phones are MIA.
Nevertheless, the two are going for Kshs 24,000 for the Nokia 6.2 and Kshs 34,000 for the Nokia 7.2. The latter has already stopped by the CA for certification with model numbers TA-1196 for the dual-SIM variant and TA-1181 for the single-SIM variant. Granted, the latter will be sold through Safaricom.
Although unconfirmed, the Nokia 6.2 is likely to come in a similar configuration in the country as well, unless Safaricom, the most likely destination for the single-SIM variant, isn’t planning to carry the device. As for the specs you get, check the respective links below.
It’s worth noting that while the official price of the Nokia 7.2 is Kshs 34,000, we won’t be surprised if it ends up on Safaricom with a slightly higher price tag. Also, we may see cases of discounted prices from other retailers on Jumia.
The story shouldn’t be different with the Nokia 6.2, although, again, we still don’t know if it will be sold through Safaricom as a single-SIM model. But what we do know is that both phones still come with Googles Android One blessing, meaning you are guaranteed at least two OS upgrades beginning with Android 10 and up to three years of regular Android security updates.
