In Ugenya, an area perceived to be Raila's backyard MDG's David Ochieng garnered 18, 730 votes to beat ODM's Christopher Karan who got 14, 507 votes.
The result is despite the Opposition leader's spirited campaign in his backyard having asked the voters not to embarrass him by voting for another party's candidate.
Brian Omondi of Thirdway Alliance and Daniel Juma of Grand Dream Development party were other candidates in the poll which witnessed incidents of violence and allegations of elections malpractices.
Omondi and Juma did not however, vote, after Independent Electora and Boundaries Commission confirmed they were registered voters in Nairobi and not Ugenya.
In another poll in Embakasi South ODM contestant Irshad Sumra conceded an early defeat and congratulated Wiper candidate Julius Mawathe even before IEBC announced the winner in what was another loss for Raila.

Wiper and ODM which are components of the moribund National Super Alliance portrayed a fierce rivalry attack, both parties having refused to back each other's candidate ahead of the poll.
Sumra who was initially ousted by Mawathe in the Tuesday, August 8, 2017 General Election filed a petition against the Wiper candidate which the Supreme Court approved setting ground for a grand rematch.
Results from 90 out of 221 polling stations showed Mawathe was leading with 7,905 votes while Sumra was a distant second with 3,387 votes in a contest that had 15 aspirants.
"I congratulate for Mawathe who must have prepared better than me. I also did well but lost track towards the end of the campaigns. I will work with him because he has won fairly," Sumra said.
His concession speech contradicted with ODM's Secretary General Edwin Sifuna who accused Mawathe of engaging in malpractices that gave him an advantage during the polling exercise.
The ODM candidate confirmed he had been congratulated by Raila, the party leader, for his input reiterating that it was a victory for NASA since Mawathe was still the Opposition's outfit candidate.
