Politicians pay tribute to security forces for quick response

Tributes continue to pour in following the attack at 14 Riverside Drive where 21 people lost their lives.

IG Boinnet Wednesday confirmed the death toll has climbed to 21, after six more bodies were retrieved from the scene.

“It is unfortunate that we have picked six other bodies at the scene while one officer succumbed to the injuries,” he said.

The IG said among the dead are 16 Kenyans, one Briton, one American and three others of African descent that are yet to be identified.

“As a result, our final tally indicates that five terrorists were eliminated by our security apparatus,” Boinett said.

Politicians have visited the scene of the attack, where they have praised security forces for a quick response.

He also praised the emergency team from Nairobi County who also showed their quick response. He commended measures put up by the government to ensure the city is a safe place for everyone.

Sonko condoled with the families who lost their loved ones during the attack and asked the residence to report any suspicious activities to the policy.

He said; “I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones and injured during the attack”.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga also condemned the terror attack act.

“we condemn in the strongest term possible this act of cowardice by the attackers”
