The politics of tea factory directors has been turned into a forum to support a person based on religion.
Though the incumbent directors are trying to win support from tea farmers, some of the opponents are being fronted by a section of church leaders.
If the trend continues, then those who do not belong to any religion will support whoever is not fronted by a particular religion.
In the case of Embomos zone, John Kering is facing a new aspirant who is enjoying support from a particular church.
Most of the directors are defending their seats and include Embomos zoneβs Kering who will battle it out with Simon Cheruiyot.
Kering has served as the director for a record of over 15 years and is still a man to watch since farmers have confidence in his leadership as he is accessible to all farmers while Cheruiyot is still in the process of learning the game.
Apart from low payment of tea bonus, small scale tea farmers are yet to come to terms with quality of green tea leaves that is currently going on in the region.
Farmers have expressed disappointment with the directors and management for remaining soundless on poor payment of tea bonus only to be told to maintain quality for the sake of better payment.
Others going for rotation are Kapset Tea Factory chairman Raymond Milgo who will square it out with former director John Terer.
