A 45-year-old man by the name Francis Muriira from Muthara ward in Tigania East has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of raping his 15-year-old daughter and infecting her with HIV.
The judgement was ruled by the Kirindine Court magistrate Paul Wachuli.
In her ruling, Wachuli said it’s unfortunate for a father to do such a beastly act to a child whom he is entrusted to protect. The suspect was handed 14 days to appeal.
The clinician who was helping in the investigation said that the man was fully aware of his status.
The clinician went ahead to reveal that the man knew he was ARVs yet he went ahead to commit the heinous act.
