Asian grabs four Kitale CBD plots – Weekly Citizen

A Kitale Asian tycoon Tanna and Sons Limited has been implicated in the controversial grabbing of four plots within the central business district that belongs to Muliro market.
The officials of Muliro market who spoke to the press in Kitale said Tanna want to grab their plots by force using the back door.
According to documents seen by Weekly Citizen newspaper, Tanna and Sons Limited owns plot No 4/364 that he was allegedly awarded with a title deed on May 5 1999, a land that belonged to the old Kitale Police Station.
After the old police station was moved to where it is currently standing, it is said Tanna maneuvered his way to the ministry of Lands offices where he got the government plot and its documents which was nullified later altered.Trans Nzoia governor is Joseph Khaemba.
The plot was later subdivided by the government into four plots 439, 440, 441 and number 442 to benefit locals.
Ronald Wanjala and Ben Simiyu accused Tanna saying he is demanding plots No 4/364 that’s does not exist. “The four plots in town belongs to Muliro market CBO we don’t know where Tanna plot No 4/364 is located in town it’s upon him to inquire the land docket to show him his plot and not us, we don’t need a hundred common sense to differentiate these visible plot numbers,’’ stated Wanjala.
Tanna has stopped Muliro market from constructing more business buildings claiming that he is the owner of the plot. Last year, fire from unknown source erased all buildings at old police and properties worth million shillings.
Owners of Muliro market have claimed that the building materials that costed more than Sh300,000 have disappeared after Tanna deployed heavily armed police officers to ensure no more construction takes place and said the Kitale OCS will be held squarely responsible for the loss of any property. The matter is before the court.
