Harambee has been dealt a huge blow ahead of Monday's, July 1, do or die match against Senegal after defender Erick 'Marcelo' Ouma missed training with an injury.
The left-back, who can also play on the left flank as a winger picked an injury in training on Saturday, June 29, and missed training in Cairo as Stars geared towards the crunch tie.
A source from Stars' camp is said to have confirmed Ouma picked an ankle injury.
His absence could hand head coach Sebastien Migne a major selection headache having grappled with previous defensive concerns since the start of the tournament.
“Marcelo got injured in training on Saturday. He did not train yesterday and he is a major doubt for the match against Senegal,” the source divulged.
Stars will however be buoyed by the return of defensive duo of Joash Onyango and Philemon Otieno.

Onyango is yet to feature in the competition having missed matches against Algeria and Tanzania, with Otieno featuring against Algeria before missing Tanzania cracker.
Both have trained with the rest of the squad and could be in contention for a starting role against the Lions of Teranga.
Stars need to avoid defeat against Senegal to secure a round of 16 ticket as they sit third in the group with 3 points.
