The body of AP officer and rugby player Vincent Kemboi who disappeared in November has been found at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) morgue.

Kemboi is suspected to have died in a road accident at Sukunanga in Eldoret, but his body was taken to the morgue without identification.

He was based at Embakasi in Nairobi.

MTRH CEO Wilson Aruasa on Wednesday said the body had been positively identified.

“It was brought in by traffic police in November 2018 after a road accident at Sugunanga on the Eldoret-Nakuru road,” said Dr Aruasa.

Family spokesman Andrew Kimetto said they received a call in November from Embakasi seeking to know if Kemboi was at home.

“We embarked on a search for him and luckily we have managed to get his body in Eldoret,” said Kimetto.

The family, however, questions records on the death and wants probe on the murder.

At Embakasi he had been given leave on November 28 but the records at the morgue show he was brought in as an unknown person on November 28.

“How come he died on 25th yet he was given leave on November 28th?” Kimeto asked.

Records at the hospital indicate he was involved in a road accident while travelling to Eldoret in a Molo line Sacco matatu.
