• The government has taken action against the Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) after allegations of gross financial impropriety.

  Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed disbanded the federation that is led by Nick Mwendwa.

  The federation was disbanded after the CS received a report on the investigations into the massive fraud reported at the body.

  On Thursday, November 11, the CS was presented with the audit report on FKF by Sports Registrar, Rose Wasike.

  Amina went ahead to install a caretaker committee to lead the government's efforts to reform the body.

  The committee will be headed by retired Judge Aaron Ringera. The Ringera led committee will lead the federation for a period of six months.

  In an earlier interview, FKF boss, Nick Mwendwa had claimed that the CS wanted him out of office after the CS called for investigations into the embattled body.
