CS Macharia Reveals Why He Failed to Attend Azimo La Umoja Convention

Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia has finally revealed why he missed the Azimio la Umoja Convention that was held at Kasarani stadium in Nairobi on 10th December.

Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV with Sam Gituku on Monday evening, 27th December CS Macharia noted that he was out of the country for official duty and that’s why he couldn’t make it to the convention in which the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga declared his presidential bid ahead of the August 2022 polls.

Macharia said if he was present in the country, he would have attended the convention to listen to what was being said.

“If I was in the country, I would have attended the Azimio la Umoja Convention,” said Macharia.

As the country is preparing for the 2022 General Election, CS Macharia urged Kenyans to vote for leaders who will ensure the projects that were started by the national government will be completed.

“I want to urge Kenyans to vote for the who will ensure that there is continuity of what we are doing now, if for example I gonna launch Nairobi Mau Summit road it will be done next four years, I want to be assured that the government which will be there will complete that project,” he said.

Macharia’s remarks come barely three weeks after the meeting of Mount Kenya Foundation (MKF) where other CSs Joe Mucheru, Margaret Kobia, Sicily Kariuki and Peter Munya publicly declared to back Odinga’s presidential bid.
