DAILY POST: MUDAVADI warns RUTO of dire consequences for attacking DCI GEORGE KINOTI - Let the man tell Kenyans who stole Sh 21 billion in phantom dams scandal 03:08 Monday March 4, 2019-Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has urged Deputy President William Ruto to stop intimidating Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, who is doing a good job of unmasking thieves of taxpayer’s money.
On Thursday, Ruto, who was speaking in Nairobi, accused the DCI of lying to Kenyans that Sh 21 billion has been lost during the construction of Arror and Kimwarer dams.

Ruto said it is only Sh 7 billion that had been stolen.  However speaking at JCC Parklands on Sunday, Mudavadi said the statement by Ruto that it is only Sh 7 billion has been lost indicts the DP and he should be investigated. “Why not allow the investigative agencies to do their job? Why is DCI George Kinoti and the EACC calling people, demanding documents associated with this project?” Mudavadi asked. The DCI is probing suspected loss of Sh21 billion in the two projects being implemented by the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA). At least 107 firms have been summoned to shed more light on their engagement in the project. Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich, has also admitted that it is Sh 21 billion that has been lost and not Sh 7 billion as claimed by the DP.
