DAILY POST: RUTO apologizes to UHURU and MARAGA for embarrassing them by dressing like a clown at their event – Blames the President for ambushing him

Thursday February 28, 2019 – Deputy
President William Ruto has apologised to Chief Justice David Maraga and
President Uhuru Kenyatta for dressing like a comedian in an official function
presided over by the Head of State at the Judiciary today.
The DP had donned
a pair of khaki trousers though he had put on an official checked gray coat, a
white shirt and a red tie and appeared just like a clown.
Ruto appeared to
blame President Uhuru Kenyatta for ambushing him to attend the event he was not
prepared to attend.

“I have
realised I am the only one here who is a bit out of place because I am not
appropriately dressed.”

“I want to apologise to the Chie Justice and the President.”

“I was dressed to attend other occasion out of town,”
said Ruto.

“When my boss told
me I was supposed to be here I had no choice.”

“I know you invited me but my invitation might have delayed
but it is not out of disrespect that I am dressed this way,” the DP
explained.
He further said
his dress code should not be associated with previous sentiments he had about the
Judiciary reiterating that he respected that arm of Government.

“This dress
code has nothing to do with what I have said before.”

“We respect and have the highest regard for our judicial
system as individuals and Government,” added Ruto.
