Wednesday January 23, 2019 - Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta elevated Interior CS Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiangi, to a senior position in order to humiliate Deputy President William Ruto. On Tuesday, Uhuru shocked the entire country when he named Matiangi as the chief supervisor of all Government projects including the Big Four Agenda projects. According to political analysts, Matiangi's new role reduced Ruto to a lame duck Deputy President because his duties were taken by the no-nonsense CS However, speaking on Radio Jambo on Wednesday morning, Wetangula said Uhuru and Ruto are never friends despite their show-off on cameras. Wetangula cited last week’s incident in Kisumu County when the Defense Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo read the President's speech instead of Ruto. The Senator insinuated that Ruto should have been given the speech to read because he is second in rank to the President instead of giving a lower ranked Cabinet member. "Despite Ruto who is his deputy attending the function, Uhuru chose to use a Cabinet Secretary to deliver his speech. This shows you clearly that there is a problem between the two," Wetangula said. The outspoken Senator concluded by saying that this was a clear indicator that Jubilee Party was on its death bed and it was headed for a bad course.
