Thursday January 24, 2019 - Kirinyaga County Governor, Anne Waiguru, is again on the spot after details emerged that the County bought four cows at a cost of Sh 2 million. According to an impeccable source, Kirinyaga CEC of Agriculture, Dr Jackan Gutu, authorized the buying of the cows last month and the cows are currently at Kamweti Farmers Training Centre. The Director of Veterinary Services in the County, Dr Richard Gichangi, also said he realised that the residents were duped by Dr Gutu when he went to Kamweti and checked the grade of the cows. “I only came to learn that the four pedigree cows had been bought and stocked at the Kamweti Farmers Training Centre a little later and I had no opportunity to verify before delivery if they were not the right breed,” Gichangi said. Residents asked the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, to send officers to Kirinyaga County and investigate the matter and arrest all those involved in stealing public money. Waiguru, who is ranked as the most corrupt woman in Kenya, is yet to comment on the issue that has shocked the entire County.
